George Tamashiro
George Yuuji Tamashiro, 87, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 6, 2022, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center in Hilo. Born in Keopu, Kona, he was the owner of Tamashiro Trucking, Inc., and a member of the Kona Okinawa Kenjin Kai, Kailua Shita Kumiai, and was a life member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, (B.P.O.E.) Kona Lodge #2616.
Private services were held.
He is survived by daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Bushe of Hilo; sisters, Edith Rhoads of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Edna (William) Thomas of Kailua-Kona; two grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and nephews and cousins.

Agustina Fontanilla,
Agustina Fontanilla 76, of Hilo, died Oct. 5, 2022. Born Oct. 15, 1945 in the Philippines, she worked in the KTA Deli prior to retirement.
Visitation will be held on Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. Service to follow at 6 p.m. at Ballard Family Mortuary. Aloha attire encouraged. The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation to Hawaii Care Choices.
She is survived by husband, Alejandro Fontanilla; sons, Charles Fontanilla, and Andy (Trisha) Yadao; daughters, Cynthia (Myron) Sakamoto, Cecilia (Patrick) Yadao-Sambrio, Carolyn (Ruben) Daquep, and Cathy (Donald Respicio) Yadao; sister, Florencia Yagin; brother, Rudolfo Yacap; grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Martin Heins
Martin George Heins, 65, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 9, 2022 in Kealakekua. Born Oct. 3, 1956, in the Netherlands, he was a U.S. Army veteran, and worked as a mechanic and security guard.
Private services will be held.
He is survived by brothers Eric and David Swor Heins of San Francisco and Pastor Paul Heins of Port Townsend, Washington; and his niece Lydia Heins of McMinnville, Oregon.

Sharon Nakamoto
Sharon Sherane Nakamoto, 72, of Waikoloa, died Sept. 17, 2022. Born July 12, 1950 in Honokaa, she retired as a supervisor of Puna Certified Nurseries in Kona.

She is survived by husband, Ray Nakamoto; step son, Matt (Stephani Janiw) Dochin of Lahaina; brother, Pat (Kim) Tomas of Kawaihae; brother in laws, Ron Nakamoto of Hilo, Alan Poncho (Joni) Nakamoto of Waikoloa; sister Amy Jean Domingcil of Hilo; sister in laws, Ilona (Mark) Haggerty of Waimea, Mae (George) Ikeda of Pahoa, Doreen Nakamoto and Viola Alfson of California; grandchildren, Moku and Kaimana; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Samuel Hanawahine
Samuel Ka’aua Hanawahine, 36, of Hilo, died Sept. 28, 2022 at his residence. Born March 28, 1986, in Honolulu, he was a U.S. Army veteran.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Kaela Escalante; sons, Samuel Hanawahine and Robert Hanawahine; daughters, Izabelle Hanawahine, and Annys Hanawahine; adoptive mother, JoAnn Waiolama; sisters, Wilma Bertola (Chauncey), Charisse Kekoa (Barry), Jemima Ramirez, Joscelyn Waiolama (Lehuanani), Jazmen Waiolama (Shane); brothers, William Hanawahine II, Michael Hanawahine (Shayla), and JohnWayne Waiolama (Ka’ena).
